10 Must Have Game Night Games

We live for a good game night party, and have amassed quite the collection the last few years. Truth be told, game night around these parts is an art form. We like to play hard, eat all the things, play some more, eat dessert, and if we’re lucky enough, we keep playing until it’s time to eat again. You know… #balance

Admittedly, we’re easily entertained, wildly competitive and there are very few games we’ve tried that we haven’t enjoyed. I’ve scoured the internet and found the best prices for all of our favorites. In no particular order, here is our top 10 must have game night games:

  1. Five Crowns
Alright, where are my Phase10 fans at? Long are the days of being stuck on one hand for 27 rounds while everyone else leaves you and your pride in the dust. Five Crowns is hands down our favorite card game, the one we play most often, and a Phase10+Rummy mashup. Five Crowns is a five suited rummy style card game, featuring a double deck and a rotating wild card that keeps everyone on their toes! The game begins with 3 cards and 3s are wild, the next round has 4 cards and 4s are wild, and so on all the way through the deck for round 13. Your objective is to find the right combination to lay down all of your cards, or have the lowest score possible when someone else lays down. The player with the lowest score wins! Available for $11

  2. New Phone, Who Dis?
From the creators of “What Do You Meme?”, this is hands down one of the most hysterical games we’ve ever played. Players rotate drawing a sent (or “inbox”) card while the rest of the group competes to play the funniest reply card. Once everyone in the group has played their chosen reply card, the judge decides which card combination is the funniest. That person gets a point. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins! Designed for 3 to up to 20 players.
    Available for $19

  3. Monikers
If you’re into a game that requires acting skills, creative thinking and memory - this game is for you! It took us a bit to get into, but with the right crowd, this game is next level! Cards include celebrities, TV shows, movie character names, and even some random objects. In the first round, clue givers can say anything they want, except for the name itself. For the second round, clue givers can only say one word. And in the final round, clue givers can’t say anything at all: they can only use gestures and charades.
    Available for $25

  4. Golf
Much like the real thing, this card game requires of memory, risk and reward! Match and trade out your cards to get the lowest possible score per hole. One of the easiest and most fun card games, up to 25 players at once!
It is currently sold out on Amazon, but here’s a similar game available for $14.99!

  5. Catch Phrase
Does this one even need an explanation? A quick thinking descriptive word game is my kind of party. The last time we played this with my family, my infamous Uncle Phil wouldn’t start the timer, and instead would make up his own words for us to guess. The man had us completely fooled until he accidentally pushed a button and blew his cover.
    Available for $19

  6. Hella 90s
Dust off your fanny pack, because this game is all that and a bag of chips! This trivia game boasts over 400 pop culture questions filled with various game challenges. Relive the da bomb movies & TV, phat toys, Mad Tech, fly fashions & OMG the music! You can even listen to the soundtrack on Spotify! If a player answers a question correctly they score 1 point for their team. The first team to score 7 points is the winner and will bask in 90's glory (cue The music)!
    Available for $14

  7. Redneck Life
Just like the game of life, but the redneck version! The object of the game is simple, be the player with the most teeth remaining to win! A roll of two dice determines the grade you complete in school, which sets you up for a handful of fabulous career opportunities such as Monster Truck Announcer or Mullet Salon Operator. Go into debt to purchase rigs, get hitched and housed, divorced, remarried and raise a passel of young'ens all named Darryl. Teeth are lost through accidents and brawls, but if you have enough money, you can buy them back at the end of the game! Trust us, it’s just as hysterical as it sounds!
    Available for $20

  8. Quelf
We first played this game years ago, and when Caleb drew the card that he had to go hide until someone found him, we were hooked. This completely unpredictable party game is filled with random acts, rules and hilarity. There’s just one simple rule with this game: obey the card! Roll the dice, and draw a card from the deck that’s the same color as the space you land on. Read aloud and do exactly as it says. If you can’t accomplish your mission, you must move back the number of spaces specified on the card. If you succeed, advance into sweet sweet victory. Admittedly, I was painfully embarrassed with some of the cards that I happened to draw, but I suppose it’s more fun that way!
    Available for $29

  9. Cards Against Humanity
If you haven’t played this game, you’re probably living in a bunker with Kimmy Schmidt. Cards Against Humanity was the first of its kind, where things can get out of hand quicker than you can say, “no mom, don’t google that word!” The game is easy, each round one player asks a question from a black card, and everyone else answers with their best white card. If you’re going to play, buy all of the expansion packs, including the Nostalgia and Foodie options!
    Available for $25

  10. What Do You Meme?
Another classic, What Do You Meme is all about the most popular internet memes and applying the perfect caption card. Not quite as raunchy as Cards Against Humanity, but just as much fun! Absolutely would recommend every single one of the expansion packs!
    Available for $29

Because narrowing down our library is a real challenge, here are a few other honorable mentions: Redneck Life, Loaded Questions, Blank Slate, 4-Bidden Words, The Golden Girls Any Way You Slice It, Blockbuster Party Game.
