Cinco de Mayo: the best queso + marg recipes

Let’s be clear about something real quick. As a queso aficionado myself, I can wholeheartedly say that I absolutely do not need a reason to eat queso, but with open arms, welcome any and every opportunity to enjoy liquid gold, free of judgement. But Cinco de Mayo on a Taco Tuesday? This is our quarantine saving grace!

In honor of this glorious holiday, it’s only right I share my beloved queso and not-so-secret margarita recipes, so we can all celebrate together.

Liquid Gold Queso:

  • 16 oz block of Velveeta

  • 1 10 oz can of Rotel

  • 1 4oz can of green chiles

  • 1/4 brick cream cheese

  • Tostitos

Chefs notes: I like to add green chiles to kick things up a notch, without the extra spice of buying the “hot” rotel. I also like to add cream cheese to make it a little extra rich. #yolo. Mix, melt, enjoy.

The Truly Family Margarita Recipe:

  • 1 can frozen limeade

  • 2 cans water (use empty limeade can)

  • 3/4 can tequila

  • 1/4 can triple sec

  • Rim salt

Bartender notes: this recipe is perfection, but add more tequila if you want to get turnt

I’m all about the tried and true queso recipe, but this queso book has dozens of fun options to try - including queso recipes popular by region! $15 is worth eternal happiness, trust me. You can also find my queso bowl here!

Queso Forever.

Yours Truly,
Jordan
