DIY Adirondack Chairs

When we first moved into our house, I was so dang excited to have a patio, I bought a 7 piece outdoor sectional on Amazon. Fortunately for us, it also doubled as our living room furniture for a brief moment in time while we waited for our custom sectional to be delivered. While initially, it did serve its purpose, we very quickly realized how much we didn’t like it. The paper thin cushions, the wicker that seemed to attract all the bugs, and the club chair fit isn’t ideal for those that live in the land of giants. We posted the set for sale on Facebook marketplace, had a full on bidding war, and they were picked up within the hour. Success!

Can we pause for a moment of silence and reflection on how wildly expensive quality patio furniture actually is? Like wut?? After an entire year of shopping turned doodling and some not-so-subtle hinting, it was time to get my handyman involved. I woke up one random Saturday morning and proposed my chair ideas. We did a little research, and thus, our doodles were born.

Here’s what we used:

8 - 1x6x8

I manned the saw while Caleb assembled. Are we the dynamic duo or what? For a little added comfort, I picked up a rug and two sizes of pillows at my beloved At Home . Here are a few similar options that I love:

I forsee many summer back yard hang outs in our future! What will we dream up next?
